Hosting and server log files
noir.photos is statically served on Panomity GmbH's own server in Germany. When you request a page, the server automatically records standard technical information in server log files, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, requested path and time of access. This data is used solely to keep the service secure and reliable (legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), is deleted after a short period and is not cross-referenced with other data sources.
Image processing stays on your device
Image processing on noir.photos is purely client-side: selecting, editing and exporting an image happen in your browser on your device. Image data does not leave your device and is not uploaded to us for processing. Image data and edit settings are not stored in localStorage.
Theme preference and offline cache
If you choose a theme, noir.photos stores only that choice under the localStorage key noir-theme on your device. After you process an image for the first time, the service worker may place the application shell (HTML, scripts, styles, fonts, manifest and icons) in browser Cache Storage so the editor can show an offline fallback. Neither Cache Storage nor localStorage receives image data or edit settings. You can remove both at any time by clearing the site data for noir.photos in your browser.
Analytics status
No Matomo or other analytics service is currently active on noir.photos. If analytics is introduced later, this privacy policy will be updated before activation.
Data transfers
Server log data handled for noir.photos is kept on Panomity GmbH infrastructure in Germany. No transfer to servers or service providers outside the European Union or the European Economic Area is intended.
